The Importance of Housing in a Recession
John Avlon: Most of the previous recessions have been largely about housing interest rates go up. Part of it is a lot of people who are buying houses are so expensive only people could bake ash or buy them, he says. Avlon: The US is very weird with this 30 year fixed rate mortgage and I was at a continental banker conference a few weeks ago. It's probably the only decent financial decision I've made in my life, avlon adds.
