Is There Any Chance of Liberalization in the Gulf?

Is there any chance where we will see liberalization, for example, in the l g b t c movement? Or is that just not how cultural and social chains works over there, like it does here. There's a way that authoritarian governments are trying to use elgibitc issues as a way to push societies away from liberalism. My guess is that for quite some time, we're going to be unhappy with where balances between liberals and conservatives are. But i look around the united states, and i think a lot of americans are uncomfortable with where the balance is.
