This is a fragment and Mandelstim called it a fragment and not a full poem. It's just four lines of verse, right? You can be upset by me calling it verse if you want to. That first line tells us into the distance disappear the mounds of human heads. And this gets back to another thing that we were talking about in our general discussion episode of claw: The places where these stories can persist is in cultural artifacts.
