The Autobiographical Parallels to Krisham's Character

There are several autobiographical parallels I imagine with Krisham there's his bilingualism the fact that he is an academic or entered upon a kind of academic trajectory. He also grew up in Colombo so on the island during the war but far removed from the scenes of violence and I think as a result of that he like me also experiences a lot of guilt around being one of the privileged members of his community who did not be subject to extraordinary amounts of violence.
