At Home With Sally

CHAPTER

The University of Oxford

Oxford began as a university community in 1249 and most of the buildings of Oxford were built between 1427 and 1483. A man named Humphrey who was Duke of Glouchester Gloucester decided that he would donate his very well developed library to the University of Oxford so that people could come and have books to read and to study. The Bodleian library which is the main library today has one of the hugest library systems it has buildings all over town but anyway it's just absolutely amazing to me that still to this day each of these colleges are like little communities.
