The Mixed-Race Relationship With a Thai Woman

I feel in many ways that she was the central character of this entire book. I knew that I wanted to write about a mixed-race relationship with a Thai woman, just because that's like growing up in international school and in the household that I grew up in. And then some of it, like the abortion story, and then one of the stories that comes, I think a couple stories later, which is about these kind of like spirit medium cult, were just these stories that I thought that I needed to tell.
