How to Identify Politics in an Interview

I think it's really hard in an interview, if not impossible, to identify the politics. It takes me months on the job before I start to even notice the politics that are underpinning things. If you have friends that work there, that's great, but that's a cop-out answer. You probably know that they're not working on updating the FoxPro product. That could be a huge deal breaker. Work there and then build a time machine.
