The New York Bail Reform

The pre-trial detention population of New York is up 5% from 2021 and 2022. Seventeen people this year at Rikers have died already. The idea that somehow they don't put people in jail anymore is of course just not true. And I did think it was quite curious that this episode came out four days before the midterm elections. Because it is so overtly a political... It feels like it was written quickly to do so on.
