How to Look for Heavy Particles That You Don't Know Are There

The large hadron kolider is really good at seeing heavy particles that then decay into lighter particles. There are some people out there who predicted heavy particles decaying into pairs of electrons or pairs of muons, for example. But i felt like more likely the discoveries would be something that they hadn't even thought of, something crazy and unanticipated. That was my scientific fantasies, to discover something weird. And new that made everybody go, hu, that can't be right.
