The Costs of Being More Explicit
I think I think there's a thing. So if you look at how our sexual politics have evolved over the last couple of decades, in what I at least think is a positive direction, more things are more explicit now than they were 20, 30, 40 years ago. There are certainly costs to doing this. It also takes a certain amount of like implicit savviness to like actually, so it's not just playing the rules, but also like a certain level of skill. Like classically, people who are on the autism spectrum struggle with this kind of thing because they're like, wait, why can't we just say what we mean?
