Being physically active and fit was a major defender against getting hospitalized when you got infected, having to go to the intensive care unit. It's this the the COVID-19 epidemic. So if you're overweight, and you have large amount of adipose tissue, those cells become infiltrated with white blood cells,. They get activated and they produce a pro inflammatory state. This is what the predispose people to problems with infections like COVID.
