Neurology was getting too technical to be able to inform the practice of a practising neurologist, says Steve wringle. By contrast, in neuromn logy and neuro infectious disease and in neurogenetics,. we recognized that we were sending back a lot of work that was valuable. So those journals were launched primarily on editorial concerns because we were rejecting so many good papers in those areas. But there was an editorial imperative, but it needed to include a business model by which funding could occur consistently. A subscription to n c p is a member benefit.
