Psychologist leta furbe has found a link between possessions and a feeling of control. People value their own possessions more than others are willing to pay for them. The endowment effect generally doesn't appear in children, probably until round about six years of age. But we did some studies showing you could induce the endowment effect in much younger children simply by getting them to think about themselves as an individual.
