Robotic Surgery and the Future of Surgery

The initial robotic surgery here was with a Da Vinci system, which came in about 10 years ago slightly over. The main aim is to reduce the strain on the patients to get better outcomes by better precision, less trauma. In other words, you make small holes rather than big holes in people and they recover more quickly. This can be added at hospital in a day or two and physically recovered, driving, working, etc., in a much shorter period of time.
