The Indo-Pacific was an acknowledgement that A, the political map had changed and the political map of both opportunity and contest is much bigger than the Asia Pacific. It would include the Indian Ocean, Africa, the Mediterranean through the Arabian Sea, through the Swast canal, southern Europe, right? India of course and the islands here. They were all critical to now this new political map that would be both an opportunity landscape as well as a contest landscape. So it is not coincidental that in the 90s and towards the end of Clinton administration, the George Bush presidency years, Obama, Trump, Biden, one thing has remained consistent and strong, the centrality of India in the American visualization
