The Importance of Being Italian

I have this cliche image of, you know, namas secret recipe, huge plates of meatballs and all that kind of stuff. I think that was some like real contradictions to my dad because he was hugely proud of being Italian and wanted to talk about it a lot. He felt sometimes he was discriminated against back in the 20s when he came to England. My mum was English and did all the cooking but she definitely cooked like Italian food for her family. So I don't know, it was definitely Italian in some ways.
