The main principle that we're going to focus on today is behavioral reinforcement. We have this circuit in the brain or this part of our brain called the nucleus accumbens. When dopamine is released, it reinforces a behavior and makes us want to do it more. And so what happens when we fall into this cycle where we try to resist playing video games? It doesn't really work. So even spurts of productivity can actually create spurs of doing the wrong thing.
