The Benefits of Social Media for Good or Bad Ideas

I don't think it's necessarily social media as an inherent system that spreads bad ideas. What you could argue is that there are inherently more, you know, blue hair, Taliban activist types who use social media. And therefore they end up being over represented on that medium. So in the same way that dreadful ideas could spread to your point, but then why can't people who've got the good ideas also use social media as a tool to spread better ideas?
