The German Bishops Conference Is Incapable of Breaking With the ZDK
The German Bishops Conference is incapable of breaking with or standing up to the Central Committee of German Catholics. The ZDK is a political organization made up predominantly of current or former politicians in Germany who are baptized mostly, I think. It openly advocate and demand things like the ordination of women, the legitimacy of abortion, the changing of the churches teaching on human sexuality. So we're in this really weird gray area where the Germans are threatening to take up their ball and go home but if they go home, it turns out we get to keep the ball.
