Dickens' Propaganda for the APD

Dickens tells the AGC that he wants to hire 250 APD officers a year for three years, hoping that the total of 750 new hires will net a 450 increase in officers. Dickens also approved $4,000 bonuses for APD paid using American Rescue Plan Act money. Initially in June, Dickens promised police a raise of three and a half percent. In November, it became apparent that the city would have a budget surplus.
