The Effects of a Mask on Health

Black carbon is a significant contributing factor to health problems caused by pollution. Our lungs are not designed to deal with elemental carbon that we're breathing in. In some masks, you sometimes see curias and serious cyclists wearing masks. Will they cut out black carbon or other pollutants? They will cut out some. But it's only a suspicion, but my suspicion is that a mask is not going to protect you from the most damaging, tiniest particles.
