Trial officials met to decide whether should he be convicted, garry should go to prison or treatment facility. The evaluator said garry might be an escape risk from a treatment facility. Ultimately, the determination was that garry was, in fact, competent to stand trial. And with that conviction, he was sentenced to life in prison with a mandatory 15 years sentence for his crimes.
