The Relationship Between Personality and Society

The Frankfurt School is a term that the denotation or the meaning of which changes over time, right? Yeah. Have an interesting history there. They reconstitute the Institute in Frankfurt, have a complex and very strained and basically adversarial relationship eventually with the student left in Germany by the 1960s. I'd say then sort of the second generation of the Frankfurt School comes with Jürgen Habemas and Axel Honeth and these younger figures who come up. What to me feels still sort of revolutionary and useful about their contribution is the way they bring together sociology and political economy with psychoanalysis, psychology and libidinal economy.
