The Bill Is a Pre-Election Commitment, but It's Not a Pre-Election Commitment.
The legislation is expected to be introduced next week. It will have the power to investigate ministers, public servants, statutary office holders and contractors. The oversight committee will operate independently of government. But there are still a few things that are missing from the bill - such as whistle-blowing protections.
