The Dangers of the Droughts
Drought struck towns were here serving as the canaries in the coal mine, graciously designed to alert israel to disaster that awaited them all. Such disasters can be warnings to a people more generally, that if they do not repent, they will perish. As they failed to respond to these initial warnings, the judgments would ramp up. He devastated their crops with pestilence and the sword.
