I just think Ted Chang can write the heck out of a story, man. Like he just his ability to take a neat science fiction idea and interrogate it in a beautiful, thoughtful way Just totally worked for me. I also really loved and highly recommended people the haunting of tram car 015,. Egypt discovers like and opens a portal to genies and magic and becomes a world power. It's not my favorite of her portal fantasy books. This one deals with rules like a lot. And it was a little too rule heavy for me.
