The Importance of Culture in Media
People tend to come to media with the intuitions that they've inherited. And so we have not yet even begun really perceiving the internet and social media as what it is capable of. We come to it with broadcast media intuitions from television and radio from decades and decades ago. It took like Jimmy Hendrix to show up in the 1970s to show people that, oh, wow, you can do all these weird alien sounds with it.
