In the fuzzy real world that we live in, the person proposing the idea carries some context based on their past success. So it's possible that you are seeing this play out where this informal leader has proved himself to be right a lot. And so them proposing idea carries this coma, and i'm right a lot at the end, all the ideas they propose. Maybe that's why people consider it. Which isn't necessarily awesome but not horrible either.
