Do You Have to Be Vegetarian or Plant Based?

Those who consumed a broader diversity of plant foods also had a higher diversity in their gut microbiota. But they did not find that there was any difference between those who are vegetarian and those who are omnivorous, meaning it didn't matter if you were eating meat and plants or just plants. This is why I think we can look at a paleo diet or Mediterranean diet and not fall into the mistaken thing that you must be plant based. And again, this is likely because multiple diets can be health promoting.
