Are You Really Chasing the Truth?
i think climate change is a big deal i think it's like on the margin less important to work on than AI nuclear and bio and a couple other things. If everyone around you all the time is telling you how important climate change is then notice that by default you're going to be pushed towards that conclusion. Try to have an internal sense of like am i actually chasing the truth or often that won't work. I read this in 2014 before i really understood the replication crisis so maybe it doesn't hold up it's probably true but for a lot of people listening to this triggering that question probably is helpful. There was one time when i was talking to someone who rethink priorities had offered a job
