The United Front Work Department and China's Soft Power
The Chinese government has built its own global media operations. Most of these entities are actually party entities, writes Andrew Hammond. The United Front Work Department is in charge of managing non-ethnic groups like the House of Lords and religious organisations. It's a very old established department but it can be used to marginalise or silence those who don't agree with the Communist Party story.
