The law does not make allowances for cool girls. Daphne has three older brothers, but she is the oldest and most of the daughters are not sort of a marriageable age yet. Her mother is leaning on all the boys to get married, but it's, you know, they're men. So they get a lot more leeway in this situation to go and be rakes. I think we get one character per book who gets to be a rake. That's my thing.
