Theban commander, the man of great deeds, is struck deep by a lack of themonian shortsword. Epaminondas still has the sword lodged in his vitals; that sword is now the only thing keeping him from bleeding to death. Seeing the many dead was grilleous, the son of Xenophon of Athens. Grilleous was posted with the Athenian cavalry at the Battle of Mantonea.
