CNN's John Sutter talks about the role of home ownership in American society. He argues that it should be a good way to live and a bad way to make money. The U.S. government has spent $250 billion on housing since 2000, he says. A new policy would subsidize house prices by making them artificially scarce for people who can't afford their own homes but don't need one.
