What Is Bonapartism?

With the coup a success, president's closest advisers got together and drafted a new constitution for the public. This constitution would be an expression of bonapartist ideology that louis napoleon had himself been further developing his whole life. Bonapartism is a brand of popular autocracy, or bottom up absolutism. The once the people have vested their sovereignty in a single leader, it was up to him to rule the nation on their behalf without any further interference.
