I Think It's a Speculative Question
"Why don't there seem to be that many other intelligent civilizations on planets other than the Earth?" "All the other civilizations once they reached a certain level of intelligence and technological innovation blew themselves up again this feels very speculative but as a kind of thought experiment I think it's a really interesting way of thinking through you know what might await us as a species" 'The consequences of things going wrong just keep getting worse the more technological capacity we have' I'm not into science fiction but one argument I really buy is that if we know anything about the history of colonialism and how it played out for civilizations.
