The Paradox of Cognitive Ease
The patient had familial hypertriglycerideemia causing acute pancreatitis, perhaps exacerbated by some drinking. He never had any animal contact on the trip, so lactobesparosis was never on our differential and serology were never sent. We talked about broadening our scope when we face a symptom or chircon plane. It can be a local problem limited to the organ system or it could be one of the signs reflecting a more global process.
