In 2022, only 15% of workers in the private sector had access to a defined benefit pension. However, 86% of government workers had access to one. Anything that adds diversification and maybe a level of stability to your overall financial picture theoretically allows you to take more risk in your portfolio. But before you get too aggressive, do some thinking about how much diversification those assets really provide.
