In addition to all those rational and profound tasks, neocortex has to do all these to process new information. The smartest part of the neocortex is called prefrontal cortex. And that's the area of your brain which does all those executive functions as we call them. So reasoning, planning your day, prioritizing, writing to-do lists, deciding on which tasks to do, actually, from that to-do list. Solving whatever problems come in your way.
