Is Boris Johnson So Bad at Sidesteping Scottish Public Opposition?
He's so, and we've seen this many times before now, he can be so maladroit at doing the sidestep which politicians need to be. In this case on paper, this should be really easy because he opposes another referendum. He could so easily just have said, look, I don't think it's for any one party to just declare that a general election vote can be considered to be a referendum. How is that going to work? Is it majority of the seats? Is itmajority of the vote? Throw it back to the SMP and then you can say, but what I'm here to talk about anyway is free port and what people of Scotland care.
