Is There Anthropomorphism?

Sometimes people ascribe an intelligence to the machine that it does not have. It's a delicate line because some degree of anthropomorphism is helpful to a designer. But on the flip side, we can't ask machines why they think what they do. And so even though there may be higher accuracy or confidence in the machine, we still don't really understand why that's happening and we can't interrogate it.
