How to Make Social Media Work Constructively and Socially
I've been pondering the idea of how you make social media work constructively and socially. The answer as with most things is democracy some kind, he says. I was talking about how Twitter is like the algorithm and social media spaces are like perfect reflections of the free market in that they seem like this free for all but they actually have this deep structural bias built into them. It maps perfectly onto the old calculation debate about how you move from an anarchic market system to some form of planned economy.
