FTX backed projects ranged from a 12 million dollars to champion a California ballot initiative to strengthen public health programs and detect emerging virus threats. They also recently published an extremely flawed investigation that backed the lab leak hypothesis. The LA Times called it a train wreck noting the article is based heavily on Chinese language documents that appear to have been mistranslated and misinterpreted. It also takes as gospel or a port by a rump group of Republican congressional staff members asserting that the pandemic was more likely than not the result of a research related incident.
