When Louis XVIII reinstated ceremonial titles during the Bourbon Restoration, there was no question about the Toulouse-Lautrecs' rights. They were an unbroken branch of the Ruerge dynasty in the Languedoque. Their unreal pedigree not only made them a shoe-in for the reinstated titles, it gave them an arrogance and a superiority complex. These people were assholes of the highest order.
