The Heroism of Piety
In the book of Job, we have one might say the great text of Levantine piety. He realizes that his little limited mind with all of its human values and so forth does not reach to the mystery of the divine. God is transcendent, but not imminent here. These are two aspects of a divine mystery. One in its small human conscious manifestation; the other in its transcendent. And they're both within you here.
