The Rise of Discount Grocers

Walmart did great in their recent quarterly earnings for all the reasons you can expect, right? Groceries are really expensive. People are flocking to discounters. So Walmart is doing fantastic. But even within those results, they also pointed to general merchandise, which is just a term meaning things like clothing, non food items, general things are a little bit down for them as well. The question would be, why now?
