Kwang Dook set himself on fire after reciting a short prayer. Images of his self-immolation angered millions all across the planet. The image became a kind of human war shek test, in which everyone saw their own values reflected back at them. President Kennedy soon gave his nod of approval to a plan by Ziam's top generals to overthrow him.
