Is There a Version of Calvinism That Isn't Toxic?

I think anybody who was really committed to taking any brand or flavor of Christianity can make it into something non-toxic if they are determined and flexible enough. The stuff that we've really been very heavily critical of I think is very much this John Piper and John MacArthur brand of Calvinism. They're teachings on total depravity and the elect and all of those things are extremely smug and also extremely just like it's a new belief system.
