Stalipin, a Provincial Governor, Was a Prominent Governer

Stalepin was known to wade into crowds of demonstrating workers, demanding that they remain calm and orderly. As often as necessary, the force under his command did meet violence with violence. His combination of strong physical repression and active work afdressing grievances meant that by the time the chaotic year of 19 o five ended, stalipin could note with pride that saratof had not been engulfed by as much revolutionary upheaval as provinces even immediately adjacent to it.
