The Children's on Line Privacy Protection Act
A weight watchers company was fined one and a half million dollars for illegally harvesting data from children. As part of the settlement, they are requiring that this company destroy the alg thms that they were able to create in the first place. Ben: This is an especially egregious example because it does involve children. But i do think that this really opens the door for additional cases that might be more high profile.
